poster session 1 - call for posters

architecture and furnishings in the libraries
[architettura e interni nelle biblioteche]

During Bibliocom 2002 the Ministry of Cultural Affairs - General department for book heritage and cultural institutions and the Italian library association will organize an international conference entitled: "Nuove biblioteche per nuovi bisogni: l'architettura di fronte alle sfide della tecnologia (1990-2000)" [New libraries for new needs: architecture and the challenges of the technology 1990-2000] with Italian and foreign speakers.
At the same time a poster session will be prepared with the title: "Architettura e interni nelle biblioteche" (Architecture and furnishings in the libraries).
Subjects of the posters can be new libraries, recently made or near repairs, important changes in furniture. Posters on this theme, realised for different events, can be proposed too.

RULES OF PARTICIPATION TO THE POSTER SESSION

The proposal for the participation to the poster session must arrive at the Organizing secretariat by July 30, 2002 with the indication of the subject of the poster (or posters).

Editing rules

Size: cm 70 x 100
Position: vertical
Support: gr.150-200 cardboard
Assembling and dismantling: posters must arrive at the Organizing secretariat (Organizing secretariat Bibliocom Poster Session, Associazione italiana biblioteche, viale Castro Pretorio 105, 00185 Roma, Tel. 06-4463532, fax 06-4441139, e-mail: bibliocom@aib.it) by October 10, 2002 or they will be assembled by the authors helped by AIB staff on October 14, 2002 from 2,30 p.m. to 6,30 p.m. on the occasion of Bibliocom. If they will be sent by mail, posters must be rolled up and protected for avoiding damages during the transportation by mail. All the posters must be removed by the end of the Conference. AIB will not be responsible for the loss or damages of the posters after the end of the event. The authors who can be present during the event, are invited to attend the session on October 16, in order to answer to the questions of the visitors.
Smaller copy: by the same dates a smaller copy of the poster must be sent in computer format, pc compatible.
Style: posters must be readable from a 2 meters distance at least. The style must be plain and brief.
Type: Helvetics or Times New Roman. Body of the text: 14 points at least. You should use one type with not so many changes in style (boldface, italics, underlined type etc.). We recommend you to use primary colours (red, green and blue) for the text and the complementary ones for the background and pictures
On the poster you must indicate: Title, authors; Library, institution; Area of the project, realization times, progress of the works; Short description of the project. The text must not have more than 3,000 characters. It is possible to insert graphes, tables, drawing and pictures.
Publication: AIB reserves the faculty to publish the posters, on the ground of their number and financing possibilities, in the Bibliocom 2002 Proceedings.
