Seminal Meeting with Lynn Silipigni Connaway, PhD

The Regional Section of the Italian Libraries Association (AIB Lazio), in cooperation with DILL International Master Digital Library Learning (Parma University) and with the Department of Education of Roma Tre University, is proud to announce a seminal meeting with Lynn Silipigni Connaway (Director of User Research at OCLC Research, Past President of the Association of Information Science & Technology ASIS&T).
Based on the 6th edition of Research Methods in Library and Information Science (Santa Barbara (CA): Libraries Unlimited, [2017]) and the OCLC Research Report The Many Faces of Digital Visitors and Residents: Facets of Online Engagement (by Lynn Silipigni Connaway, Vanessa Kitzie, Erin M. Hood, and William Harvey, November 2017), the meeting will focus on the key findings of the Digital Visitors and Residents (V&R) project and will include the highlights from Lynn Silipigni Connaway’s paper discussed in Milan at the “Stelline” Conference on March 15th.
We will talk with Lynn Silipigni Connaway about how individuals engage with technology and get their information, about research behaviors, about their impact on library services and information literacy programmes, and also about strategies for building and strenghtening communities of both librarians and users.

- 5:00 pm: Anna Maria Tammaro (Parma University): Research in LIS: the Mentoring Programme “Researcher Librarian” and IFLA LTR (Library Theory and Research) Section Activities
- 5:30 pm: Luisa Marquardt (Roma Tre University): Research Methods and Information Literacy Education: Connecting Theory and Practice at Undergraduate Level
- 5:45 pm: Discussion
- 6:00 pm: Final remarks
